Here are some of the places we suggest you visit during your stay in our port
Marcatu d'aiacciu
Located in the heart of the imperial city, Ajaccio’s market is the meeting point of Ajaccio life.
Particularly at weekends, when locals come to shop for Sunday lunch with family and friends.
Palais fesch
If Ajaccio today boasts a fine arts museum with no fewer than 350 paintings, it’s thanks to Napoleon’s maternal uncle: Joseph Fesch.
By the time of his death, this collector had left behind some 16,000 paintings, a thousand of which form the core of the Palais Fesch collection.
Ajaccio Citadel
Located in the heart of Ajaccio, the Citadelle Miollis, whose foundation stone was laid in 1492 and which has undergone constant transformation since then, was until recently occupied by the French government’s military services.
Casa Buonaparte (Bonaparte House)
Napoleon was born in this house on August 15, 1769.
The emperor’s birthplace houses a museum dedicated to the Bonaparte family.
Furniture, paintings and decorations take you back to the atmosphere of the late 18th century.
Notre Dame De L'Assomption Cathedral
Located in the old town, the cathedral was completed in 1593.
The building is typical of Counter-Reformation architecture.
Built on a Latin cross plan, its transept crossing is illuminated by a cupola.
